The OMA Process

The OMA process is based on key fundamentals from Lean and Six Sigma and was developed out of the need for organizations to sustain results. We believe that for an improvement to be sustainable, it is critical that such improvement is harmonized with the organization’s dynamics and business environment.

OMA is simply: OBSERVE, MEASURE, ACT.

Observe to Understand

Observe is the first and perhaps most critical steps. We learn about the overall business situation, how the organization works, which are its internal capabilities and team dynamics, and the maturity of its processes and systems.  We are also keen to understand  the organizations’ Values, Core Competencies and Ethos as well as its appetite for change. These are key insights that will help us to create custom-tailored solutions which will thrive within the organization’s climate and thus the results will be sustained.

Measure to Learn

This is the second step, and it is performed in collaboration with the organization’s talent resources. The objective of this step is to zoom in on the key issues that need to be tackled so that a suitable improvement strategy can be developed. Maintaining laser focus on the issue(s) at hand will be critical to prevent detours in the delivery of rapid and affordable solutions.

Act to Last

The focus is of this last phase is the development and execution of an improvement roadmap to deliver the intended results. We also create a governance framework to monitor the sustainability of the results. In this last step we coach and guide the organization’s talent resources through the execution and ensure that internal capabilities have been attained to sustain the gains.
